Undués de Lerda

ON THE ROAD TO SANTIAGO

Right in the Camino de Santiago, 140 kilometres from Zaragoza, is located Undues de Lerda, a small village that stands out for its attractive farmhouse, with old stone houses, in perfect condition.

One of them is the old palace of pilgrims, now converted into a tourist hostel, where tourists and walkers who are completing the Camino Jacobean converge.

Undués de Lerda also offers visitors the Romanesque salt flats located in the ravine of the same name, and the experience of contemplating a medieval snowfield, which was active until the 19th century, providing ice for daily use, to maintain food cool but also for its therapeutic use, against fever, inflammation or diseases such as cholera and meningitis. Nowadays, there is no need for snowfields, it remains, however part of our history of subsistence and overcoming.
